Sometimes, it is very simple.
There are two bands.
Local boys making good the Misers, for a soulful, rocking, song filled night out.
Their debut album Amplified Life Stories sees Ian Morgan and myself down at Rockfield Studios in the guise of record producers, helping contribute to a record that i am incredibly proud of.
Secondly, local boys made good. You will all understand, there has only ever been one band, my desert island band, the theme tune of my youth. The 40th anniversary shows at the Hammersmith Odeon (it will always be that) were the ultimate celebration, an honour and a priviledge to be there and to be smuggled by Stan with Val and Neil into the dressing room at the end to see Kelvin Blacklock, Mick Jones (Clash), Jimmy Page, Mick Jones (Foreigner), the Motters et al. I cried somewhere up in the balcony on the Friday night as i realised that Mott were everything all us 50 somethings had wanted them to be and that Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream had left knowing now that these boys were the real deal. Ladies and Gentlemen Mott the Hoople
To the boys that provide the work, a million thanks. Click on the thumbnail to see The 4SpeccyGits - no, not a new supergroup, as one of them has NO musical talent whatsoever!
Lastly, who says that ligging isn't fun, as I get to go on the Neighbours set down in Melbourne and hang with my namesake aka Lou Carpenter.
